Tigers say lost 21,000 cadres

The Tigers have lost 21,051 cadres during the last 26 years, pro-LTTE websites announced.

The 21,051 cadres include 16,516 males and 4,535 females. The period sited for the numbers is from November 27, 1982 to May 31, 2008. The Tigers lost their first cadre Shankar on November 27, 1982.

The number includes 348 Black Tigers as well. In 2008, the first five months saw the slaying of 918 cadres, 616 males and 302 females. In 2006 the Tigers lost 1,004 cadres, 745 males and 259 and in 2007 they lost 1,196 - 1,037 males and 159 females, the LTTE has announced.
