House meets for new session

Parliament will meet today at 10.00 a.m. for a new session following a month long prorogation. After President Mahinda Rajapaksa prorogued Parliament sessions at midnight on May 6, it was announced that the new Parliament sessions will begin today.

It will be the third session of the Sixth Parliament. The motion to extend Emergency regulations by another one month is scheduled to be debated in Parliament today.
