SAP will open an office in Sri Lanka soon. "We are planning on
opening a System Application and Products (SAP) office in Sri Lanka,
mainly because many of our customers from Sri Lanka. We have got good
support from the Sri Lankan market and it's a pleasure to invest in Sri
Lanka.
There's a market growth of 35 per cent in the Sri Lankan SAP market,"
President/CEO of SAP (Indian Subcontinent) Ranjan Das said.
"Looking at the Sri Lankan market, we have the best business
opportunities and hope to expand more customers towards SAP. As the
Indian SAP industry, most of our customers are Sri Lankans. "We have
around 38 customers from Sri Lanka. We are looking forward to help the
Sri Lankan IT sector," Das said addressing the media at the Mumbai SAP
Summit yesterday.
"We have got opportunities to improve our IT industry by using SAP."
"Specially in our own company. We are the biggest SAP customer based
company having many in-house customers in Sri Lanka. It has helped us in
many ways and we are happy to be customers of SAP," a senior official of
John Keells said.
SAP is the world's third largest independent software vendor with a
rapid growth of 24-27 per cent. I am proud to say that with holistic
growth and strong continued momentum, SAP India has emerged as the
"Jewel in the Crown", President and CEO of SAP Americas and Asia Pacific
Japan States, Bill McDermott said.
"Every company has to take the advantages of the market and grow
rapidly. We are doing a reasonable job in Sri Lanka and we are looking
at how we could advance the SAP industry.
"There are many multiple SAP solutions for the Sri Lankan industry
that could be a SAP customer even for a small industry, which will
enable them to grow rapidly in their own business," Vice President of
Marketing SAP India, Nagaraj Bhargavan said.
He said Sri Lanka has sufficient resources to have good business
opportunities. "It is possible in Sri Lanka to use their own resources
to fulfil their own needs as Sri Lanka has a great growth of technology.
"The information technology is booming in Sri Lanka and it has
opportunities to be a better business partner," Bhargavan said.
"India is the support hub for SAP worldwide. We have doubled our
revenue during the past years. Investing in india, has now become a key
focus for SAP venture since India is one of the fastest growing
economies in the world and due to the larger talent that is at the
forefront of the technology revolution," McDermott said.
