Meet the Sri Lanka women's cricket team for Asia Cup

Chamani Seneviratne
Right arm opening bowler Chamani Seneviratne will spearhead Sri
Lanka's bowling attack at the forthcoming women's Asia Cup limited overs
tournament to be worked at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium
and at the Welagedera Stadium in Dambulla.
The twenty nine year old all rounder from MAS Leisureline SC is
making a comeback after being overseas for some time. But before that
she had represented the country in two World Cups in New Zealand and in
India and also toured West Indies with the national team.
She made her one day international debut against Netherlands in 1997
at the SSC grounds and hit a career best 105 not out in the only Test
match against Pakistan at the Colts CC grounds in 1998.
In addition she has accumulated a total of 399 runs from 34 one day
matches with one half century. She was ranked number seven in the
bowling rankings at the World Cup in New Zealand.
Dedunu Silva
Having represented the country in two World Cups and three Asia Cup
tournaments Dedunu Silva is one of the most senior members of the Sri
Lanka women's cricket team.
The thirty year old right hand opening batswoman from Slimline has
been involved with the national team since 1998 and made her one day
international debut against Australia at Christchurch in December 2000.
In 23 matches she has collected a total of 364 runs inclusive of
three half centuries and had a top score of 76 runs against India in
2006. She became the woman of the series at the 2006 Asia Cup tournament
held in India.
Dedunu a past student of Girls High School Mount Lavinia of course is
making a comeback after having temporally retired from the game in 2004
due to higher studies.
She was introduced into the game by Susilough de S. Wijeratne and
later represented Colts CC with distinction. She joined Kandy Ladies CC
thereafter and was selected as the best player of the 2004/2005 league
tournaments having stroked four half centuries.
Inoka Galagedara
A right hand top order batswoman Inoka Galagedera is a key player in
the side with a lot of experience behind her. The thirty year old from
Colts Cricket Club has been a regular member of the national team since
making her debut for Sri Lanka against Pakistan in January 2002 at
Braybrooke Place.
She has represented the country in 22 matches including the World Cup
tournament in South Africa in 2005 and two Asia Cup tournaments in
Pakistan (2005) and India (2006).
Inoka Galagedera a past student of Bomeriya National School excelled
in softball cricket during inter house events and began playing leather
ball cricket for the first time in 1999.
