Healthcare Minister for WHO Executive Board meeting

Healthcare and Nutrition Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva left for Geneva on Tuesday to participate in the World Health Organisation (WHO) Executive Board Meeting to be held from January 17 and 18 at WHO Headquarters, a Ministry spokesman said. He said Health Ministers from Mexico, US, Japan and New Zealand will participate in the meeting.

De Silva's participation in this meeting is significant because he is expecting to obtain WHO financial and technical assistance to control non communicable diseases from Sri Lanka in 2008, the spokesman said.
