Twin blasts shatter Buttala:

26 killed as Tiger claymore hits bus

Three soldiers injured in second explosion targeting Army vehicle :

Twenty six civilians were killed in a claymore blast in Okkampitiya yesterday morning. Another 63 persons including 10 children were injured as the CTB bus they were travelling in was caught by the LTTE claymore explosion.

‘They kept on shooting’

Several eyewitnesses spoke to the Daily News about the blast:

W.M.Dilan Sudharshana (25) : I live very close to the spot where the blast took place. I heard a terrible sound of an explosion and instantly I heard someone shouting “Budu Ammo”.

Fleeing Tigers kill farmer

A farmer was killed and three others injured by LTTE cadres while a group of farmers were working at their chena in Dambayaya, Monaragala yesterday morning, Military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara said.
