The Postgraduate Institute of Management Alumni Association(PIMA), Sri Jayawardanepura University has planned several ‘Professional Development Programmes’ for its members and business leaders. Announcing the launch of their new logo and the calendar of activities for the following year was held at the Holiday Inn last Friday.

“Learning is a continuous process and thus the PIM Alumni seeks to provide members with a rich and fertile ground for building their education with the objectives of personal development on the one hand, and contribution to the nation, on the other,” said the President of the Alumni Association Lakshman Abeysekara.

He also stated that a core objective is setting up a network among alumni and the country’s business and public sector communities for mutual benefit, which is a principle that has proved crucial the world over for business successes. He said that the main focus of the programmes is to provide.

Professional development of members and non-members and to provide a fertile ground for networking among members.

“One of these programmes that have been planned for the following year is ‘Counterpoint’. Under this programme PIMA will invite business leaders who have succeeded in their chosen careers through deviating from conventional business methods,” said Annath Selladoray.

The first topic of discussion under the professional development programme was also held at the event. The keynote speaker was Uditha Liyanage.

At the discussion, Liyanage stressed the fact that businesses should have a clear plan and improve customer management which will directly lead to maximise profits.
