A group of parliamentarians representing various political parties in the Parliament formed the Sri Lanka-Pakistan Friendship Association at the Parliamentary Complex recently. Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickremanayake and Deputy Tourism Minister Faizer Musthafa were elected President and General Secretary. Here, Speaker W. J. M. Lokubandara, Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickremanayake, Deputy Speaker Geethanjana Gunawardene and Pakistan High Commissioner Shahzad A. Chaudhry at the meeting.


Pakistan appreciates Lanka’s stand

Pakistan Foreign Minister Inam-Ul-Haque who met Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama during the SAARC Council of Ministers meeting in Delhi on Friday, has once again expressed Pakistan’s appreciation to Sri Lanka for standing by Pakistan against the recent suspension of Pakistan from the Commonwealth.
