President's move timely: CWC
The Ceylon Workers' Congress yesterday welcomed
President Mahinda Rajapaksa's decision to extend his support to the
Ceylon Workers' Congress' efforts to increase the plantation workers
wages in the rubber and tea growing manufacturing trades to a
monthly minium wage of Rs. 5,000.

Benefits of development programmes must reach people - President
President Mahinda Rajapaksa said the main aim of
his Government is to see that the benefits of rural development
programmes reach the people at all levels and stressed on the
importance of finding solutions to innumerable issues that have to
be confronted when implementing these programmes.
