An Amendment to the Sri Lanka Insurance Board Act
which would enable any company to act as insurance agent would be
passed within the next few months, industry sources said.

Lanka to be promoted as film locations destination
Sri Lanka is to be promoted as a destination for
film locations, Director Marketing Sri Lanka Tourist Board Malraj
Kirielle said. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the world's
second largest tourism event World Travel Market which began at
London's largest exhibition venue Excel on Monday morning he said
that promotions in this regard has been already launched in
Bollywood, India.

Fertiliser subsidy: The Government has provided
all types of fertiliser at Rs. 350 per 50 kg bag for paddy and OFC
farmers and urea for smallholder plantations at Rs. 1200 per 50 kg
bag. Total request for fertiliser subsidy for this year is Rs. 12.8
bn. Total expenditure as at Sept 30, 2006 - Rs. 8739.31 mn.
