LTTE claymore misses Navy bus target
An LTTE claymore mine attack in the wee hours of
yesterday aimed at a Navy bus leaving the Welisara Navy camp went
awry and instead a CTB bus was caught in the explosion causing
injuries to the driver and conductor.

Govt. not obliged to attend Oslo talks - PNM

the view that it was totally unnecessary for the Government to
participate in the Oslo talks since the SLMM has had no problem at
any time with the Government in connection with truce monitoring

Maximum security assured to villages in danger
Having listened to Upali Rajakaruna, who escaped
from the Welikanda, Omadiyamadu massacre by the LTTE on May 29, the
President instructed President's Secretary Lalith Weeratunga and
Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa to take immediate steps to
strengthen security measures in areas subject to LTTE attacks.
