More killings by LTTE

KAYTS: Two LTTE terrorists riding a motorcycle stormed a house in Velanai, Kayts on Monday night and shot dead two inmates who were asleep.

The victims were identified as K. Bodhini, 27, and her brother Kopavan Ananda, 29, Kayts police said. Investigations are continuing.

Meanwhile in a seperate incident in Vavuniya an LTTE claymore mine has killed two Policemen and a sales executive in Randarikulam, Vavuniya yesterday while they were proceeding in a private vehicle of the SINGER Company Ltd in Vavuniya.

Four Police Constables had reportedly boarded the private SINGER vehicle on a lift while they were returning after duty at an A/L Examination centre at about 4 p.m. yesterday when LTTE terrorists in hiding activated a claymore mine through a remote controller and blew it up killing three inside the vehicle. Two other Police Constables inside the vehicle and a twelve-year-old boy on the road received injuries and were evacuated to the Vavuniya hospital for treatment.

Police Constables were on their way back to the Vavuniya Police station after providing security duty to the Vipulananda Vidyalaya where the GCE Advance Level Examination was in progress.

The vehicle belonging to the Vavuniya SINGER Company branch was being driven by its Branch Manager himself when LTTE terrorists activated the claymore mine.The SLMM has been informed and the Vavuniya Police are investigating.
