LTTE officially added to EU blacklist
The European Union officially added the LTTE to
its terror blacklist yesterday, effectively freezing the group's
assets across the 25-nation bloc and hindering its ability to raise
money for its armed movement.

Secretariat Kethesh Loganathan, commenting on the EU ban on the LTTE,
said the ban is a clear message to the LTTE of the international
community's condemnation of LTTE's behaviour and conduct.
Meeting with President significant - Jaffna Bishop
President Mahinda Rajapaksa assured the Bishop
of Jaffna Rt. Rev. Thomas Saundranayagam and Mannar Bishop Rt. Rev.
Rayappu Joseph that he would make every effort to ensure the safety
of the people of the North and East and would not allow another
confrontation to errupt in the area.
