Singapore PM preparing for elections
AFTER a year in the job, Singapore Prime Minister
Lee Hsien Loong told a Sunday newspaper he was preparing for an
election in coming months. Lee was also quoted in the Straits Times
on Sunday as saying his government would act against anyone who
threatened racial and religious harmony in the city-state, after
three young people were charged with posting inflammatory racial
remarks on the Internet.

Musharraf denies making remarks on Pakistani
rapes
PRESIDENT Pervez Musharraf denied on Saturday
telling the Washington Post that many Pakistanis felt crying rape
was an easy way to make money and get a Canadian visa, saying the
remark was made by someone else.
