Sri Lanka Telecom yesterday launched the first phase of the Rs 710 million Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) and 763 employees received service certificates and terminal benefits at a function held in Colombo. SLT has taken steps to educate retired employees on investment opportunities and benefits in several banks and financial institutions.

Sri Lanka's corporate with the largest market capitalisation Sri Lanka Telecom yesterday 'bade farewell' to 763 employees of the total 1,025 who opted to retire voluntarily under the company's Rs 710 million Voluntary Retirement Scheme package.
