The Court of Appeal, having considered an application for a Writ of Mandamus on the IGP and SSP Sisira Mendis of the CID to execute the open warrant against Velupillai Prabhakaran, ordered yesterday to issue notice on respondents for December 01.

The Application for a Writ of Mandamus was filed by retired Senior DIG, H. M. G. B. Kotakadeniya, seeking execution of the warrant issued by the High Court of Colombo, the Court which sentenced Velupillai Prabhakaran for a term of 20 years rigorous imprisonment.
