27 die as bus falls into river in India NEW DELHI, Monday (AFP) Twenty-seven people died when a bus plunged off a bridge into a river in India's Madhya Pradesh state, an official said Monday. The bus was travelling in the Sidhi district when its tyre burst and it fell into the Sone river late Sunday, a senior district official told the Press Trust of India news agency. The official said the river was almost dry but the high number of casualties resulted from the bus falling from a great height. |
