Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe called on his Norwegian counterpart Kjell Magne Bondevik in Oslo yesterday before the Peace support conference began. After the meeting Wickremesinghe told reporters his government's aim was to ensure that the peace process would reach a point of no return next year. Bondevik said he would visit Sri Lanka shortly to add momentum to the peace process.

Business tycoon Ravi Wettasinghe and Milinda Ekanayake, two suspects in the mob attack at the Trans Asia Hotel on November 3, who appeared on notice before the Colombo Fort Magistrate and Additional District Judge Priyantha Fernando, were granted bail yesterday.
