Eden Resort and Spa one of world's Top 10 hotels

Eden Resort and Spa, a flagship of the Confifi Group Hotels was declared as one of the top 10 hotels in the world by UK's leading up market tour operator, Saga Holidays.

The Saga Annual Awards Dinner 2002 was held recently at the Hilton Paddington in London. Stefan Furkhan, Managing Director of the Confifi Group received the award for third place in the top 10 category of Travellers World, which was won by Eden Resort and Spa.

Saga is one of UK's biggest and most up market tour operators specializing in holidays for mature clients. Saga emphasises excellent quality, customer satisfaction and aim to consistently achieve the highest levels of customer service in all aspects of the holiday experience to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.

The Saga Annual Awards ceremonies are held in recognition of those partners and suppliers who have achieved extremely high standards and help achieve Saga's customer satisfaction goals.

The awards are based on the results of the questionnaires completed by customers at the end of their holiday. These questionnaires are completed by approximately 80% of the customers to ensure a reasonable return and cover areas such as quality of service, comfort, cuisine, entertainment and related customer criteria.

Stefan Furkhan commenting on the achievement said: "It is all the more gratifying to receive this award as it is based purely on the customer feedback, which requires consistently high standards of service to be maintained.

Considering that the Top 10 are chosen from over a thousand suppliers and hotel partners to Saga, we are indeed honoured and thrilled that we achieved the third position overall, let alone the Top 10".

The competition is extremely stiff and many of the hotels we are competing with are world recognised brands such as Shangri La's and Sheraton's. This is the second time that Eden has come in the Saga Top 10, which is an endorsement of the hotel's continuing high standards of quality accommodation and service.

The Eden Resort and Spa was the pioneer in Sri Lanka to offer Ayurveda and Spa facilities under one roof. Spa programs are water based treatment to bring about an overall sense of well-being and revitalisation including a choice of Spa massages, body scrubs, Spa treatment including Spa facials and beauty treatment.

Ayurveda programs are wellness programs under the guidance of an Ayurvedic physician treating health disorders and relieving treatments.

The Eden Resort and Spa offers the Saga members the Saga Lounge facility of checking in, usage of the library which has a wide range of books and conference facilities.

The Deluxe Rooms are on the ground level around the pool with and private garden and a 24-hour personalised butler service. Four suits namely Chairman/Victorian/Rajasinghe/Nakada are built relatively on par with the theme inclusive of a jacuzzi each. Two Penthouses have take the best location of the hotel capturing the scenic view of the Indian ocean.

Ranjan Peiris, General Manager Eden Resort and Spa said that this is an excellent achievement received through team efforts of all employees in the hotel by offering a personalised service in a professional manner. His expectations are to maintain very high standards by further improvements in order to achieve the top on the list of 10 in the forthcoming year.
