Much needed laser machine for Ampara hospital

The Health Ministry will provide a special laser machine to Ampara
General Hospital to test eyes of premature babies and patients suffering
from diabetes.

The machine was donated by the International Sight Savers Institute
on a request by Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena. The institution
have spent Rs.10 million for the machine.
International Sight Savers Institute Director Dr. Sunil Fernando
handed over this special laser machine to Health Services Director
General Dr. Palitha Maheepala at the ministry, recently.
Dr. Maheepala said arrangements will be made to send the machine to
the Ampara General Hospital and to conduct eye checkups of the premature
babies and diabetes patients.
This is a great achievement for the Eastern Province, he added. |
