Kuwaiti assistance for EP development

Kuwait has shown interest in investing in small industries, tourism and fisheries related sectors in the Eastern Province.

Kuwaiti Ambassodor to Sri Lanka Yakoob Y Al Athikee told Eastern Province Agriculture Minister Hafiz Naseer Ahamed that Kuwaiti investors were willing to explore possibilities in the above sectors.

The Kuwaiti Ambassodor said after the conflict, the Eastern Province is now developing fast and Kuwait is willing to extend all the support for its development. He has also said the Eastern Province has tremendous potential with its vast resources. Minister Ahamed whilst welcoming Kuwaiti assistance and the possibility of future investments said his country will provide further assistance to the government’s efforts to uplift the living standards of the people.
