Piramal Glass Ceylon on expansion drive
Piramal Glass Ceylon PLC (PGC) inaugurated its
new high capacity Effluent Treatment Plant ( ETP ) under the
patronage of P Kumaran, the Deputy High Commissioner of India in
Srilanka, and member of Parliament Vidura Wikramanayake on Friday,
along with Sanjay Tiwari , CEO and Managing Director of Piramal
Glass Ceylon plc in the presence of Ranjith Fernando and Dr Bandula
Perera, Directors of Piramal Glass Ceylon Plc, as well as senior
officials of the BOI, CEA , Pradeshiya Sabha, Divisional Secretariat
, local religious establishments and other guests.

BITE 2012 in October
Sri Lanka's scenic capital of the east is set to
come alive during October 12,13 and 14 by way of the Batticaloa
International Trade Exhibition 2012 (BITE- 2012). The exhibition
which has been hailed throughout business circles as a central point

Standard Chartered wins FT/IFC Sustainable Global Bank of the
Year Award
The Financial Times and IFC, a member of the
World Bank Group, have named Standard Chartered the 2012 Sustainable
Global Bank of the Year as part of the seventh annual FT/IFC
Sustainable Finance Awards. The awards highlight leaders in
environmentally and socially responsible banking and investment
around the world. The Sustainable Global Bank of the Year Award,
given for the first time in 2012, is based on an organisation’s
overall approach to sustainability and its specific initiatives to
promote sustainable growth.
