Two nabbed while stealing money from temple till

Army troops nabbed two men who robbed money from the till of Pillaiyar temple at Vellaveli in the Batticaloa district last week. The two suspects were identified as Nadaraja Rajmohan and Mailvaganam Sivarasa, residents of Sinnawatta, Vellaveli.

Civil Coordinating Officer of the 231 Brigade Kallady Army Camp, Major Nalaka Hettigoda said troops arrested Rajmohan and handed him over to the Police for investigations.

The other suspect is absconding.

He said several similar incidents had taken place in the area in the recent past.
