Ministry to take action against Sarath Weerasekara
The Sports Ministry vehemently condemned the
Sarath Weerasekara Committee Report on alleged missuses of Tsunami
funds by the GOAL project office in Sri Lanka blaming that the
report was issued to the Media by the committee chairman Rear
Admiral Sarath Weerasekara on his own without the consent of other
four members, Rtd. DIG Pathirana, Rear Admiral Ananda Peris, SSP
Padmasiri Munasinghe and Brigadier Kariyawasam at a time the
committee proceedings were temporary suspended by the Sports
Ministry Secretary.

SLC should intervene to solve dispute
Uniting the three main umpires associations
namely Association of Cricket Umpires of Sri Lanka (ACUSL), Sri
Lanka Cricket Umpires Association (SLCUA) and the Professional
Cricket Umpires Association (PCUA) is a mere pipe dream. Of the
three associations the ACUSL is the oldest with the largest
membership. There was much hope when a memorandum of understanding
was signed between the ACUSL and the PCU on February 01, 2012. It is
non existent now.

Second tied Test in the history of cricket
Cricket is a fascinating game. Some unbelievable
fantastic incidents happen in cricket. In 1960-1961 Australia-West
Indies Test series, the first ever Tied Test was recorded. After
five days of entertaining cricket (December 9, 10, 12, 13, 14)
played at Woolloongabba, Brisbane, Australia, West-Indian Joe
