Madawala Provincial Hospital gets new Children’s Ward

The new Children’s Ward at the Provincial Hospital in Madawala was
opened under the patronage of Navy Commander Vice Admiral Jayanath
Colombage on June 3.
The new ward was constructed by the Sri Lanka Navy under its
Community Services Project on the instructions of the Navy Commander.
The construction was completed at an estimated cost of Rs 4 million by
Navy civil engineering personnel within three months.
The Provincial Hospital in Madawala opened by Admiral Sir Jefry
Layton in 1944, had been constructed with financial assistance by
philanthropists K.W David and T G Anulawathi. Navy Seva Vanitha Unit’s
Chairperson Srima Colombage was also present. |
