The Lake House sponsored school and dhamma school students'
oratorical competition, coinciding with with the annual Lake House
Mihintale Poson Aloka Pooja, was held on June 8 at Mihintale Maha
Vidyalaya premises.

The Budhusarana newspaper has organized the event. M. A. L. Dedunu
Madhuwanthi Kumari of Nivattakachctiya Maha Vidyalaya and K. A. Tharushi
Nirasha Seuwandhi represented Anuradhapura Madya Maha Vidyalaya emerged
winners of the senior and junior competitions respectively.

The winner of the senior oratorical competition will be awarded the
D. R. Wijewardane trophy along with a cash reward of Rs 10,000. The
winner of the junior event would receive Budhusarana trophy along with
Rs 10,000.
Those who have secured Second and Third places in both competitions
will get Rs 7,500 and Rs 5,000 cash awards respectively and
certificates. Others placed up to ten, would be awarded with
certificates and Rs 1,000 each.
The winners, will get their awards on June 23 on Poson Poya day at
Mihintale simultaneously to the switching on of Minintale Aloka Pooja. |
