First ever Nano-technology Park to open in October

The first ever Nano-technology Park in Sri Lanka will be opened in October, Technology, Research and Atomic Energy Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka said.

The minister participating in an inspection tour in the construction site of Nanotech Park in Homagama instructed the officials to expedite the work of the ongoing project.

He said Nanotech Park in Homagama will be a centre for the school children and people who are interested in nano-technology to study and improve their knowledge on the subject.

Parallel to the inspection tour, the minister also participated in a workshop on Nano-technology organized by Homagama Mahinda Rajapaksa Vidyalaya.

The minister observed many countries are now obtaining the maximum use of nano-technology, adding that the knowledge on this subject is necessary for the future. He also observed surpassing the nano-technology, the quantum technology is now widely spreading in the world.

Education Minister Bandula Gunawardena also participated.
