Reservoirs spill over

Water levels of Canyon, Laxapana and Wimalasurendra reservoirs have reached spill level following heavy rains in the area from day before yesterday.

Three spill gates of Moussakele which reached spill level, have been open. Moussakele provides water to Canyon, Laxapana, new Laxapana and Polpitiya reservoirs. The spill gates of Castlereigh reservoir were not opened until yesterday, even though it had reached spill level.
