Stage II of Colombo - Matara Highway to be completed by year end

Construction of Stage II of the Colombo Matara Highway which had been extended up to Matara, is expeted to be completed end of this year.

The government has obtained credit facilities of US$ 63 million from China for the project.

The total distance would be 3.5 kilo metres and it would end up at Godagama, Matara.

The opening of Stage II would bring numerous benefits to the communitry in the area and would also help promote tourism to a great extent.
