Ananda College swimming champions

Ananda College won the overall championship at the National Age Group Swimming Relay Championship, organised by the Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union which was held at the Sugathadasa National Sports Complex last week.

Two new meet records with a great performance were set by the Ananda College swimmers Malinka Jayasekara, Chirantha de Silva, Abilasha Pathirana and Thisara Wickramarachchi in the under 19 50x4 medley relay with a time of 1.55.11 secs and 50x4 freestyle relay with a time of 1.42.68 secs.

In the under 10 and 12 category junior swimmers also won first place in both relay events and proved their talents. This victory was made possible under the captaincy of Thavishka Guruge and the untiring efforts of the coach Nishantha Kumarapperuma.
