A discussion on organizing the
upcoming annual Poson Festival at the ancient Sithulpauwa
Raja Maha Viharaya on a grand scale was held at Temple Trees
yesterday, under the patronage of President Mahinda
Rajapaksa. On the occasion Dhammika Attygalle handed over
the sponsorship cheque to Presidsent Rajapaksa on behalf of
Upali Group, the main sponsors of the festival events. The
President then handed over the cheque to the Chief Incumbent
of the temple Ven. Metaremba Hemarathana Thera.
Parliamentarians Namal Rajapaksa and Lohan Ratwatte were

A conference for members of the Sri
Lanka Graduates Association was held in Jaffna on June 2
organized by SLFP chief organizer for Jaffna and Sri Lanka
Graduates Association Chairman Angajan Ramanathan. The

Justice Minister and SLMC Leader
Rauff Hakeem visited Kalpitiya recently and inspected the
new circuit court being constructed at a cost of Rs 20
million. Court procedures are now temporarily being
conducted at a temple until construction work are completed.
