Court case settled

Nugegoda District Court case bearing No. M/15/18/2011, which is in an action for damages filed by Minister S M Chandrasena for alleged defamatory statement made by Lanka Irida Sangrahaya against the said Lanka Irida Sangrahaya and its publishers had been settled between the parties.

The Defendants in the said action apologized to Minister S M Chandrasena and also agreed to make a publication in their newspaper Lanka Irida Sangrahaya and its website to the effect and same had been published accordingly.

The said terms of settlement were entered when this matter was called before Nugegoda District Judge Namal Balalle and the Plaintiff was represented by Chandana Liyanapatabendi PC with Harshana Ranasinghe attorney- at- law instructed by Chandrakumar de Silva attorney- at- law and whereas Defendants were represented by Parakrama Agalawatte attorney- at- law instructed by Sunil Watagala attorney- at- law.
