CJ meets media persons

For the first time an incumbent Chief Justice met the media at the Supreme Courts Complex yesterday, which included those whom he knew from his young days.

Chief Justice Mohan Peiris inquired about their duties and of any short comings. In response to a request he said that he would explore the possibility of providing basic communication equipment for journalists to transmit their news to their respective offices.

He also disclosed that the Supreme Court Complex is to be renovated with Chinese Government assistance. The files of the District Courts are to be stored in several containers until the conclusion of renovation.
