Butterfly Open TT from May 31

The third Butterfly Open Table Tennis Championship which is considered as a major all island ranking tournament will be worked off at the S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia from May 31 to June 2.

Altogether 10 events including Open men's/women's singles, age category boys/girls U-18, U-15, U-12 and U-10 singles are on the card. Top ranking local paddlers Rohan Sirisena and Ishara Madurangi of SL Air Force are the top seeded players in the Open event.

Emerging TT star Udaya Ranasinghe of Vidyartha College, Kandy top seeded in boys’ U-18 and U-15 events while Erandi Warusawithana of Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda is the girls’ U-18 top seed.

The tournament has been organized by the Butterfly Sports Club, a premier TT club in the country and will be conducted with the assistance of Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka (TTASL). The award ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on the final day of the tournament.
