Phil Greening may coach Havelocks this year
Former England hooker Phil Greening is likely to coach Havelocks
Sports Club in the 2013 rugby season. Greening who was the national
coach of Sri Lanka in 2012 coached the Havelocks Sevens team which
emerged runners-up of the Club Rugby Sevens three weeks ago and will
continue to coach the Park Club unless he is asked to help in coaching
the Sri Lanka team along with national coach South African Ravin de
Plessis and his assistant Englishman Ben Gollings.
Havelocks have obtained the services of Sri Lanka ruggerites Sharo
Fernando from Up Country Lions, Kandy SC hooker Anuranga Walpola and CR
and FC's Asanka Gomes in addition to yesteryear schoolboys-Peterites
Danushka Ranjan, Dulaj Perera, Chathuranga Mendis and Royalist Shehan
Pathirana.
The park club have also retained the services of seasoned campaigners
Henry Terrance, Dushmantha Priyadarshana, Ashen Karthelis, Shenal Dias,
Dhiren Warnakulasuriya, Sudarshan Mathutantri, Lee Keegal, Speedy
Wingers Sandun Herath, Chamara Dabare and utility player Mohomed
Sheriff.
Last year Havelocks led by Henry Terrence clinched the 'A' Division
League Title after 31 years and emerged runners-up to Kandy SC in the
Clifford Cup knock-out tournament.
