Decision on Royal - Isipathana inquiry on June 1

Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association (SLSRFA) disciplinary committee headed by Ranjith Chandrasekara will announce their decision on June 1 (Saturday) in Kandy on the inquiry held into the Royal - Isipathana rugby match which ended abruptly on May 18,2013.

When the SLSRFA met yesterday , they viewed the video, questioned the referee and the two touch judges and listened to the views of the masters-in-charge of rugby at Royal and Isipatana. The disciplinary committee of the SLSRFA headed by former Kingswood principal Ranjith Chandrasekara also includes the Principal of Trinity College, Brigadier Udaya Ariyaratne and Principal of Panadura Royal College Sarathchandra Silva.

The Royal - Isipathana rugby match came to an abrupt end in the 20th minute of the second half when Royal coach Bilal Yusuf called in his players when an Isipathana player allegedly punched a Royalist soon after the scores were equalized at 20-all alleging that referee Pradeep Fernando was turning a blind eye to several instances of rough play by Isipathana.
