Two PCs assaulted

The Bulathsinhala Police have arrested six persons in connection with an alleged assault on two Police Constables.A Pradeshiya Sabha member who is also said have been in the group which carried out the assault is evading arrest according to Police.

According to reports the PCs had gone to inquire into a clash between two parties in Millakanda Estate in Bulathsinhala and on the way they had come across the PS member and two others on a motorbike, who were not wearing helmets, Police said. When questioned by the PC about the absence of helmets an argument had broken out in which the PS member too had joined , which ended in a physical clash .

The two police constables were admitted to the Bulathsinghala hospital while the PS member is reported to be in hiding . The Bulathsinghala and Matugama Police are hunting for the PS member.
