SAPSA launches Sisu Nena Pahana
Sri Lanka School of Agriculture Past Students General Association
(SAPSA) has initiated to conduct training programmes for the students of
Sri Lanka School of Agriculture. The first event of this series of
seminars will be inaugurated on May 30, 2013 at the Sri Lanka school of
Agriculture Kundasale with the patronage of Director General of
Agriculture K.G. Sriyapala.
The first ever training programme has been fully sponsored by the
Brown & Company Browns will conduct a full day workshop on four wheel
tractors and use of other agricultural implementations. The programme
will be conducted in Sinhala and Tamil languages. Agricultural division
of the Brown and Company Plc has designed this programme with practical
and theoretical sessions. This will enhance the knowledge of the
students on agricultural machinery and its usage in the field.
The programme will be branded as "Browns- SAPSA, Sisu Nena Pahana".
Using of agricultural machinery and modern technology has become a must
to enhance the agricultural productivity in Sri Lanka and to get maximum
yield out of a unit area. This training programme will fulfil a much
needed requirement of the agricultural education sector.
President of SAPSA Rohitha Nanayakkara said that the programme will
be extended to Sri Lanka School of Agriculture Angunukolapellassa,
Pelwehera, Vavunia and Karapincha in the near future. Continuous
programmes will be organized to assist the students of the Sri Lanka
School of Agriculture to mark the 25th anniversary SAPSA and also aiming
the centenary celebrations of the Sri Lanka school of agriculture
founded in 1916.
