Comprehensive health camp for Lake House employees

A comprehensive health screening camp for Associated Newspapers of
Ceylon Limited (ANCL) employees, organized by the Health Ministry and
the Health Education Bureau will be held at Lake House today and
tomorrow at 8.00 am.
All ANCL employees will be screened for Non Communicable Diseases
(NCDs) and other diseases in the camp and they will be given drugs free,
Health Ministry and Health Education Bureau sources said.
The sources said that employees will be given dates to visit relevant
clinics at the Colombo National Hospital.
All ANCL employees over the age of 40 should fast for ten hours and
come to the clinics in the morning. Body Mass Index (BMI) of the
employees to be calculated. Their blood pressure to be measured. Medical
tests such as total cholesterol, fasting blood sugar, ECG, etc will be
done. Pap smear test will be available for female employees.
A dental and eye clinic will also be held for them. There will be a
dispensary, a mobile laboratory etc, the sources said.
Employees will also be trained on accurate exercising techniques by a
team of professional advisers. They will be educated on healthy food
habits, nutrition, impact of the use of alcohol and smoking, health
screening through lectures, leaflets, posters etc.
Doctors and specialist doctors will offer them consultation, the
sources added.
