Minister opens health centre

Media and Mass Information Minister Keheliya Rambukwella opened the Kandy branch of the Revival Health Care Services along Peradeniya Road, Kandy recently.

Minister Keheliya said he could personally vouch for the importance of physiotherapy after his recent mishap while on tour in Australia. With the services available in Australia together with the specialised staff, he was able to recover quickly and lead a normal life. He said he was able to walk within a short time.

Revival Health Care Services, the specialised centre started in February 2009 in Colombo as a pioneering project. The concept of a specialised physical medical centre functioning independently outside a private or government hospital was principally introduced by Revival Health Care Services. In the last four years of its existence, many sportsmen and sportswomen from different sports clubs and schools have been successfully treated by the Revival specialised team of doctors and physiotherapists.

In 2011, Revival opened its second treatment centre at Sulaiman’s Private Hospital in Grandpass, Colombo.

Being encouraged by the response and success of the first two centres, Revival opened its third centre in Kandy, which has been the home of many top class sportsmen and sportswomen who have excelled at national and international levels.

This centre will be of importance not only to the residents of the hill capital but also for those from Gampola, Kurunegala, Matale, Peradeniya and Nawalapitiya who may require these specialised services.

The Revival Centre in Kandy is fully equipped with the latest state-of-the-art equipment and is on par with the two centres already in existence in Colombo.

Apart from treating sports injuries, Revival gives equal importance to patients who are suffering from other physical conditions such as back pains, knee pains, arthiritic conditions, rehabilitation of paralytic and stroke patients etc. Revival also looks after the needs of senior citizens who require daily exercise routines to keep them fit and mobile and manage their age related conditions.
