SL Navy intercept Australia bound 'boat people' from India
Sixty six Tamil nationals who were intercepted by
the Navy on Monday 13 nautical miles off Hakkaduwa while they were
heading illegally to Australia from India in a multi-day trawler
were brought to the Galle Sea Port and handed over to the Boossa
Terrorist Investigation Division in Galle for further
investigations. The interception was made by a Fast Naval Craft
attached to the Southern Naval Command.

Hotel employee in soup for molesting foreigner
An employee attached to a tourist hotel in
Ahungalla who was taken into custody by the Ahungalla Police for
alleged sexual abuse of a Japanese woman was released on Rs 10,000
cash bail and Rs 200,000 personal bonds with two sureties when he
was produced before the Balapitiya Magistrate Asanga Bodaragama
recently.
