SSC SC proves their prowess
SSC School of Cricket proved that they are much more faster than the
"dark horse", Lankan Cricket Academy, as they cruised to a 05 wickets
win in the Inaugural MCA Inter-Academy U-12, 25 Over Cricket Tournament
final at the MCA grounds on Sunday. Lankans, sent into bat was put on
tight leach by the SSC spinners, Dilmin Ratnayake (5/21/2), Dineth
Wickramasinghe (4/12/2) & Pesara Perera (5/24/1) which restricted them
to a moderate 97 for 6 in 25 overs, including 20 runs given away as
extras. SSC reached their target easily on the 18th over (98 for 5) with
opener, Dilmin Ratnayake (22 in 34 balls inclusive of 05 fours) & one
drop batsman, skipper, Kamil Mishara (27 in 37 balls, inclusive of 05
fours) paving the way with a solid 55 runs partnership for the 02nd
wicket. Special awards (based on performances in the league stage ,
consisting 40 matches) Best Bowler : Dilmin Ratnayake from SSC (04
matches, 19 overs, 41 runs, 18 wickets, best 7/ 5 Vs. Lankan "B") Best
Batsman : Kamil Mishara from SSC (03 innings, 173 runs, 01 not out, best
100 not out Vs. MCA "Green")
Player of the Tournament : Ashen Daniel from KCA "Kings" (04 innings,
161 runs, 04 not outs, Avg. 161.0, best 68 n.o. Vs. Anoj Fernando & 57
n.o. Vs CCC "A")
