SLESA office-bearers 2013/2014

The annual convention of the General Council of Sri Lanka Ex-Servicemen's Association was held on April 28 at the Sri Lanka Ex-Servicemen's Institute, 'Vijithapura Hall'. The new office-bearers : President : Capt Patrick Jayasinghe, Vice Presidents : Lt Col S Ganegoda, Rear Admiral S R Samaratunga and Air Vice Marshal K R S Ranasinghe, Hony Secretary General: Brig K A Gnanaweera, Hony Treasurer : Lt Col D M Amarakoon.

Plaques were presented by the SLESA in appreciation of maximum contribution for the Poppy Campaign to the following Affiliated Associations. Sri Lanka Sinha Regt Ex-Servicemen's Association, Sri Lanka Naval Association and Sri Lanka Army Engineering Services Association. Plaques were also presented to General Deshamanya J E D Perera for the services rendered to SLESA as President Honoris Causa and to Ceylon Ex-Servicemen's Association Australia Branch for continuous assistance given to the SLESA Veterans' Home.

These presentations were made by SLESA President Captain Patrick Jayasinghe. The Following members were awarded the Life Membership of the SLESA.

Katunayake ex-Air Force Assn paints veterans' home

Sri Lanka Ex-Air Force Katunayake Association members recently cleaned and painted the conference hall of the Veterans' Home at Bolagala, Katana.

They were assisted by Group Captain Prasanna Ranasinghe, Commanding Officer, Air Force Camp, Ekala and staff.

Sri Lanka Ex- Air Force Women's office-bearers

The Sri Lanka Ex-Air Force Women's Association sixth Annual General Meeting was held at the Sri Lanka Ex-Servicemen's Institute, Colombo.

The newly elected office-bearers: Patron : Nileeka Abeywickrama, President : K M J Kumari Wickramasinghe, Secretary : Chulanie S Sirimewan, Treasurer : R M S S K Rathnayake, Assistant Secretary: Amitha Rohinie, Assistant Treasurer: W M Perera and Auditor : M M Pushpakumari.

Eleven members were appointed to the Executive Committee.

Ceylon Artillery Assn 55th AGM

The 55th Annual General Meeting of the Ceylon Artillery Association will be held on May 12 at 10 am at the SLESI Auditorium, Bristol Street, Colombo 1. Registration to be given to Sgt. Ranjith on 0718 030525. Breakfast and buffet lunch will be provided free of charge.
