SLTB employees to get special concessionary loan for New Year

Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) employees will be offered a special concessionary loan for the Sinhala and Hindu New Year.

Under this loan scheme, Rs. 25,000 will be offered to SLTB employees to meet their needs during the festive season, a SLTB Spokesman said. The loan will be granted under a concessionary interest rate and the total loan amount will be deducted in a year.

He said the loan limit granted to SLTB employees which was Rs.20,000 in the past has been increased up to Rs. 25,000 from this year on the directives of Transport Minister Kumara Welgama.

“The SLTB together has launched this special concessionary loan scheme in collaboration with the People’s Bank,”he added.

He further said the press release issued by the All Ceylon Transport Employees’ Union stating that SLTB employees will not get their April concessionary loan are misleading and incorrect.
