Iranian dairy firm hopes to break ice cream record
IRAN: An Iranian dairy company unveiled a five-ton tub of chocolate
ice cream in Tehran on Monday in a bid to make it into the Guinness Book
of World Records.
The company, Choopan, put the giant tub, which is more than two
metres (6.5 feet) wide and 1.60 metres (5.2 feet) tall on display at a
ski resort in the foothills of Tochal, just north of the capital, where
over 10,000 people came to see it. “We finished making the ice cream on
Sunday, and it took us eight hours to fill the tub,” Khashayar Baheri,
CEO of Choopan told AFP.
“We recorded exactly how we made the ice cream and we will give all
the documents to Guinness as evidence to support our attempt,” he added.
Representatives of the Guinness Book of World Records did witness the
record attempt in Tehran, but could not speak to the media for “security
reasons,” Baheri said.
