No fuel issue at MRIA – Yapa
Ridma Dissanayake
No problems have occurred regarding providing fuel to aircraft
landing at the Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA), Petroleum
Industries Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa said.
All facilities are available at MRIA, he told a press briefing in
Colombo yesterday.
The UNP said if more than one aircraft lands at MRIA, there are no
facilities to provide fuel to the aircraft. There will be no fuel
shortage even if 10 planes land at the airport, Yapa said. The minister
said the UNP has no idea about fuel.
He said the airport has facilities to store 30,000 litres of fuel and
3,000,000 litres of fuel at the Magampura Mahinda Rajapaksa Port.
