Asian Paints launches ‘Apex Roofguard’ in Sri Lanka

Asian Paints has elevated the protection provided by its products to a new level, roofs – easily one of the most vulnerable surfaces to be defended against the elements with a coating of paint.

The launch of ‘Apex Roofguard’ in Sri Lanka by the India-headquartered coatings giant provides builders with a new high-quality coating tested over 18 months before its launch, for colouring and protecting roofs.

A modified acrylic based pigmented water soluble coating specially developed for roof tiles and Asbestos roofing sheets, Apex Roofguard is available in seven attractive colours and in containers of one, four, ten and twenty litres, the company said.

It is highly adhesive, is non-flammable and has outstanding weather, algae and fungi resistance, helping to prolong the life span of roofing while contributing to the aesthetics of the building, Asian Paints Lanka’s Director/General Manager Joseph L. Pulikottil said.

“Apex Roofguard is an exciting and significant addition to our extensive product portfolio in Sri Lanka,” he said. “Roofs in many parts of the country are exposed to scorching sunshine and torrential rains, resulting in discolouration and weakening. This product will keep roofs looking brighter for longer.”

Already, Asian Paints has been appointed sole paint supplier to two of the leading manufacturers of Asbestos roofing sheets in Sri Lanka, Pulikottil disclosed.

Available in Tile Red, Green, Cascade Twilight, Red, Blue, Harris Red and Brown, Apex Roofguard should be applied after a coating of Asian Paints’ exterior sealer for best effects and economy.
