TN attacks :

HC instructed to express stiff opposition

External Affairs Minister Prof. G. L. Peiris yesterday told Parliament that he instructed the Sri Lankan High Commissioner in India to express the country's stiff opposition over the recent attacks on Buddhist monks in Tamil Nadu, India.

The minister said he considers these attacks as serious incidents, adding that this could not be justified at any level.

The minister made this comment in response to a supplementary question raised by UNP MP Ravi Karunanayake while he was answering a question raised by UNP MP Dayasiri Jayasekera.
