Refrain from travelling to Tamil Nadu - Defence Secretary
The Defense Ministry yesterday requested all
prospective Sri Lankan travelers to Tamil Nadu to refrain from going
there until the situation improves. Defence Secretary Gotabhaya
Rajapaksa noted the above whilst commenting on recent attacks on Sri
Lankan nationals, including Buddhist monks, visiting the southern
Indian state.

Rogue pharmacy raided in Battaramulla
The National Cosmetic Devices and Drugs
Authority (CDDA) officials raided an illegally operated drugs store
in Battaramulla yesterday following information received from the
public, a Health Ministry spokesman said. According to the spokesman
the drugs store had sold drugs for over two years and also operated
as a drug distribution centre. The shop had not been registered with
the Authority.
