Birthday boy Herath spins SL to series win
Birthday boy Rangana Herath wouldn’t have found a
better way of celebrating his 35th birthday with a precious gift, as
it coincided in many ways. He became only the third Sri Lankan
bowler to take 200 wickets in Test cricket, besides Muthiah
Muralitharan and the present bowling coach Chaminda Vaas and created
a new ground record taking the highest number of wickets at the
Premadasa Stadium in a single Test match (12 wickets).

Upul Sanjeewa on road to glory
Upul Sanjeewa of Police Special Task Force (STF)
emerged victorious in the ‘Guwan Hamuda Papedi Sawariya 2013’ (Air
Force Cycling Tour) by covering a total distance of 425 kilometres
in 10 hours. He was Born in 1974 at Rajagiriya and studied at Siri
Perakumba Maha Vidyalaya, Rajagiriya.

Navy to steer DSSB
Sri Lanka Navy took over the presidency of the
Defence Service Sports Board and held the first board meeting at the
Navy Head Quarters recently. It was presided over by Sri Lanka Navy
Commander Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage. Sri Lanka Army Commander
Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, Air Force Commander Air
Marshal Harsha Abyewickrama and senior officers of the Tri-Forces
attended the session where a host of issues related to the conduct
of the eighth edition of the Defence Service Games (DSG) were
discussed.
